The Electro-Library
The IBM Selectric typewriter was a particular feat of engineering and created an idiosyncratic class of type object, known as a type element or typeball. As a bourgening collector of these type elements, I documented them alongside their digital revivals.
The text featured here comes from the writing of designer El Lissitzky, who pioneered ideas about book-space in the 1920s and 30s.
